Re: Lost Easter Eggs

A couple others

- Liam Pace comes to the LAPD office to ask about his brother Charlie, who was arrested on the Oceanic 815 flight for drug possession

- The exact same theme that is used as Kate makes her escape from Los Angeles International Airport in "LA X, Part 2" is playing moments before James catches Kate running out of the alley.

- Miles asks James if he wants to "die alone"

Re: Lost Easter Eggs

- The Man in Black tells Richard "It's good to see you out of those chains." repeating what he said in LA X part 1

- Richard hands the Man in Black the white stone

- The Man in Black tells Richard "If you let him speak, it's already too late." as we saw Dogen do in "Sundown" with Sayid about the Man in Black.

- The Man in Black treats Richard to a boar, which we saw Flock do in "Follow the leader"

- The Black Rock is swept inland by a tidal wave, just as Arzt suggested when the survivors first visited the Black Rock.

- Jacob refers to the Man in Black as a "darkness." Much as we saw Dogen do when discussing Claire and Sayid

- Richard calls the Island "Hell," echoing Anthony Cooper's sentiments when he was on the Island.

- The Man in Black gives Richard the knife Dogen gave Sayid.

Re: Lost Easter Eggs

Magnus Hanso: After buying Richard, Jonas Whitfield says that he’s now owned by Magnus Hanso. In various online aspects of Lost, it was revealed that Magnus was the captain of the Black Rock and also the great-grandfather of Alvar Hanso, founder of the Hanso Foundation which financially supported the creation of the DHARMA Initiative on the Island.

The Man in Black’s Touch: The Man in Black touches Richard in the Black Rock, and it appears to bring him back, just as Jacob’s touch did with John Locke after he was pushed out of the window.

The Devil: The Man in Black accuses Jacob of being the Devil. It’s worth noting that on the CW series Supernatural, Mark Pellegrino (who plays Jacob) actually does play the Devil. Coincidentally, on Supernatural, Titus Welliver (the Man in Black) plays War, one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.

“Sooner Than You Think”: After Jacob gives the Man in Black the bottle of wine and leaves, the Man in Black says he’ll see Jacob “sooner than you think." This is the same thing Flocke says to Richard after he leaves him in “The Substitute."

Re: Lost Easter Eggs

Room 842: At the hotel in the altverse, Jin was given room 842, which is a combination of two of the Numbers, 8 and 42.

Button Your Shirt: To seduce Jin, Sun unbuttoned her shirt and asked if he wanted her to button it back up. In the original timeline, one of their first moments as a couple on the Island was Jin ordering Sun to button her shirt.

Danny’s Friend: Keamy refers to Mikhail as “Danny’s friend." This could refer to several Lost characters including Other Danny Pickett, Dan’s off-Island lawyer Dan Norton, Daniel Faraday, or it could be short for Danielle Rousseau. In an unlikelier scenario, the probably father of Ana Lucia’s baby was also named Danny.

Shoot Your Eye Out: During the gunfight with Jin, Mikhail is shot in his right eye. In the original timeline, Mikhail’s right eye is also missing.

Miles Plays a Game: In what has to be a running joke this season, Miles is almost always seen on the Island wasting time playing games. He played Tic Tac Toe and Solitaire at the Temple, and here he plays Gun Rummy with Lapidus.

Room 23: Jin is trapped in Room23 and turns on the subliminal message video Karl was shown, featuring the quotes “Think about your life," “We are the cause of our own suffering" and “Everything changes."

“Whatever Happens, Happens”: Flocke tells Claire this as a suggestion that after the remaining Candidates are on board Ajira 316, he doesn’t care what she does to Kate. This is also a reference to the Kate-centric season 5 episode title, “Whatever Happened, Happened."

“There’s a War Coming”: Flocke tells Charles Widmore that a wise man once told him there was a war coming to the Island. That’s exactly what Widmore told the real Locke in “The Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham," adding that if Locke didn’t return, the wrong side would win.

Jack mentions visiting Jacob's lighthouse.

Re: Lost Easter Eggs

Happily Ever After easter eggs

-Widmore's LA office features a large painting of a scale with a white object in one pan and a black object in the other

- Desmond and Penny meet in the same stadium in Los Angeles from "Live Together, Die Alone, Part 1"

- Charles pours his 60-year old whiskey, this time happily sharing it with Desmond unlike what we saw in "Flashes Before Your Eyes"

- Minkowski, who worked for Widmore and reconnected Penny and Desmond in the original timeline as seen in "The Constant," works for Widmore and takes Desmond to meet Penny in the flash-sideways timeline.

- The flight arrived at 10:42am at Gate 8. Eight and 42 are two of the Numbers.

- Like all the other characters in the altverse , Desmond stares intently at his reflection in the Arrivals screen at the airport.

- Minkowski offers Desmond companionship because he doesn't see a wedding ring, but in "LA X," when Desmond gets up to let Jack in, he very clearly is wearing one. Is this a continuity error, did he take it off, or is there another explanation?

- Desmond stares at a model sailboat in Widmore’s office. Not only did Widmore sponsor a race, but in the original timeline, Desmond rode a similar boat given to him by Libby.

- When Desmond is given an MRI, the tech tells him to push the button if he’s nervous, and when he settles in, the sound is reminiscent of the flipping of the numbers on the countdown clock in the Hatch that occurred every time Desmond typed in the Numbers and pressed the button.

- In the original timeline, Grisel Toledo played Nurse Susie at Santa Rosa. In the altverse, she plays Nurse Tyra at St. Sebastian.

- While reading the guest list for Eloise’s charity event, one of the names is Mary Markey. She is an editor on Lost who won an Emmy for the Pilot.

- Penny’s surname is Milton, most likely from John Milton, author of Paradise Lost. One of the first commentaries written on that work came from a man named Patrick Hume, Desmond’s last name.

- Daniel claims he fell in love with a redhead at a museum while she was eating a chocolate bar. Charlotte, Daniel’s love in the original timeline, works at the museum and she mentioned not being allowed to eat chocolate before dinner the first time she met Daniel as well as right before she died.

- Widmore’s team planned to test their machine on a bunny rabbit named Angstrom. Bunnies are frequently seen on Lost, and Dr. Marvin Candle used one in his experiments from the DHARMA videos. Also, “Rabbit" Angstrom is the name of the main character in four novels by John Updike.

Re: Lost Easter Eggs

Everybody Loves Hugo

-Dr. Chang: Hurley’s Man of the Year tribute was narrated by Pierre Chang, Miles’ dad who was the narrator of DHARMA videos in the original timeline and who works at the natural history museum with Charlotte in the altverse.

-The Human Fund: Hugo mentions to his mom that he must attend an event for the Human Fund. This is a fictional charity created by George Costanza on Seinfeld.

-The Waiter: The waiter at the restaurant where Hugo and Libby met in the altverse was played by Jesse Smith, who played one of the random background extras who survived the plane crash in the first few seasons.

-Spanish Johnny’s: The restaurant Hugo goes to is called Spanish Johnny’s, most likely a reference to a character in the Bruce Springsteen song “Incident on 57th Street."

-Outback Roasters: At Mr. Cluck’s there’s a sign for new Outback Roasters, suggesting that this new Australian-themed item was the reason for Hugo’s Sydney trip. The tagline, “It’s like a walkabout in your mouth," also refers to the walkabout trip John Locke tried to take.

-Number 42: At Mr. Cluck’s, Desmond is order number 42,one of the Numbers.

-The Island in the Office: In Dr. Brooks’ office, there's a picture of an Island, much like the Island Hurley was on in the original timeline.

-The Island on the Blackboard: In the room of patients at Santa Rosa, there is also an island drawn on the blackboard, complete with a shark in the water like the DHARMA shark from the original Island.

-Connect Four: A patient plays Connect Four at Santa Rosa, a game Hurley played in the original timeline with both Leonard Simms and

-The Picnic Date: Before Libby died, she and Hurley planned their first real date as a picnic on the beach. In the altverse, this was their first date.

-Desmond’s Son: Desmond tells Ben that his son is named Charlie in the altverse. In the original timeline, this was Desmond’s son’s name, a possible hint that Desmond in the altverse has all his memories from the original timeline.

-Dr. Brooks: If you’d forgotten, Dr. Brooks was also in charge of Santa Rosa when Hurley was there in the original timeline in the episode “Dave."

-The Exploding Human: Ilana explodes while handling dynamite from the Black Rock the same way Leslie Arzt did at the end of season 1.

-Notes from Underground: After Ilana explodes, Hurley finds a copy of Fyodor Dostoyevsky’sNotes from Underground, a novel whose themes echo the series, as it is about free will and about the fact that determinism or fate is not valid because people can sometimes to things without reason or purpose just to prove that they have free will, as when Hurley later goes to see Flocke just to prove he can.

-What is the Island?: Richard asks Hurley to prove he’s talking to Jacob by revealing what he compared the Island to. Richard is referring to the scene in “Ab Aeterno" when Jacob described the Island as a cork keeping Hell (or the wine) in the bottle.

-The Boy in the Jungle: The boy in the jungle was the same one who haunted Flocke in "The Substitute." His smile to Desmond suggests he either knows Desmond or the two are on the same side.

-The Whispers: Hurley finally reveals a longstanding question about the Whispers, describing them as noises from dead people who’ve done bad things and are unable to move on, suggesting that the Island may actually be a type of limbo.

-The Well: Flocke throws Desmond into a well. This well is similar to the one outside of the Orchid Station that John Locke descended into to find the frozen donkey wheel that moved the Island.

-“Everybody Loves/Hates Hugo”: Much like how “What Kate Does" was similar to a season 2 episode title, “What Kate Did," the title of this episode, “Everybody Loves Hugo," mimics the format of the season 2 episode “Everybody Hates Hugo."

Easter Eggs for The Candidate

The warning klaxon in the submarine is the same sound from the Swan.

Jack said "I wish you had believed me" which are the same words Locke used on his suicide letter to Jack.

Jack tells Locke in the flash-sideways timeline that, "Whatever happened, happened."
